Tracy Malone is the founder of Narcissist Abuse Support, a global resource that helps victims in over 145 countries heal after a narcissistic relationship. Whether it is a romantic partner, family member, friend or co-worker, narcissists thrive on getting what they can out of people, which is why the pain from this type of betrayal can run so deep.

Betrayal is just part of the package when dealing with a narcissist, and the sad truth is that they will never change. By putting language towards narcissistic tendencies, understanding the stages and tendencies of a narcissist, and not sharing your shame story unless someone deserves it, you can learn how to protect yourself from becoming vulnerable to a narcissists’ game.

If you are in a relationship with a narcissist, wanting to heal and get to the stage of ‘no-contact’ or are looking to understand the mind of a narcissist, Tracy is here to shine a light on a topic so many struggle with.

Are you ready to break the pattern of narcissistic abuse and learn your own internal lessons so that you stop attracting or falling prey to narcissistic tendencies? Share your experience with us in the comments below.

Quotes

“They know they have got you. All they have to do is mold themselves to what you are telling them you are looking for, and they’ve hooked you! It’s a green flag to them.” (6:07)

“Most people, sadly, get discarded, or leave a narcissist seven times before they are able to go no contact and never have to deal with them again.” (16:10)

“[Narcissists] can’t really change themselves. They can go back into that love bombing stage, and they can act, but they are never ever going to be able to feel empathy.” (18:00)

“Abandonment is not just ‘daddy left when I was six’. It’s someone not being there for you emotionally who is in your life. So if you have been with a narcissistic partner, they have emotionally left you and you feel abandoned.” (21:51)

“If you don’t do the work, you’re going to hook another narcissist, you have to learn this lesson before you go out there, so let yourself have time to heal.” (30:39)

Unlocking Your Leadership Edge: Transforming Work, Health, and Relationships Through Healing Unhealed Trauma
  • Thank you for this information. After I left the narcissistic partner in April, told my therapist that I wanted to develop a relationship with myself. I was not even aware that my partner was a narcissist. I had no way to identify all the traits. Once I connected all the dots through PBB information, I had an epiphany. One of the tools that I found useful is to list my values and to analyze how my life is aligned with these values. So much work and so much joy to do this inner work.
